IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE MOVIE REVIEWS

BollywoodHungama 1/5
To state that the screenplay is shoddy would be putting it mildly. The only aspect that's amusing and which bears the unmistakable stamp of Chadha are the sequences between Shabana and the spirits. The love story is a total yawn, while the emotional moments are weak. Read More

Sadly, the characters aren't well fleshed out and don't know if they are supposed to play it straight or funny. Shabana disappoints, despite the fact that she's specially put on weight for this role. Goldy Notay is watchable, while Senthil Ramamurthy doesn't have much to do. Read More

Chadha leavens the jokes with an undercurrent of real sadness and desperation. But It's a Wonderful Afterlife never achieves full lift off. There are too many dull stretches. The film has the texture of a clunky television sitcom. Read More

'It's a Wonderful Afterlife' does have catchy tunes (Bally Sagoo and Sukhwinder) but the script by Chaddha and her husband Paul Mayeda Berges has a lot of half - baked characters. Some of the gags (especially the taunts on Roopi's weight) are simply childish. Read More

In the end, it's a little too sentimental for an out - and - out comedy, but makes for time - pass viewing on a lazy weekend. Read More

Goldy Notay has a repelling personality and fails to appeal even through her performance. Sendhil Ramamurthy has nothing much to do in the film other than smooch Notay. The duo still lacks chemistry. Shabana Azmi is absolutely natural in her act but this certainly isn't amongst her best works. Read More
